EMC Software Developer Conference 2006

Seats are filling up for the 6th Annual EMC Software Developer Conference which takes place November 13th to November 16th at the Argent Hotel in San Francisco.

This year, there are sessions discussing the technical details of the upcoming Documentum 6 (D6) release, including technical sessions on Documentum Roadmap, Webtop updates, Java DMCL and eRoom Next. A new architect track will cover end-to-end Information Lifecycle Management from Content Capture through to Archiving and Backup & Recovery. Don't miss this opportunity to Get Connected - register now to guarantee your spot!

The session agenda is available here .

NOTE:We limit the number of attendees so that each person gets lots of one-on-one time with engineers, architects, product managers and other EMC technical staff.

New Content

AJAX and Webtop, Attribute Auto-Completion
Contributed by - Fabian Lee, Flatirons Solutions Corporation
In part two of this series on AJAX and Webtop, Fabian explains how to integrate AJAX into a key section of the WDK framework. This article will detail the steps for exposing a custom field as an auto-complete text box that is available from Webtop’s attributes, new, import, and check-in components.

Minimum Hardware Configurations for EMC Documentum Archive Services for SAP - Practical Sizing Guide
The sizing of hardware in a deployment of EMC Document Archive Services for SAP is determined by a number of factors. Starting from minimum requirements, this guide offers actionable information to give a head start in the planning process. Configurations with single server, multiple machines and optional load balancing are discussed.

DFC Principal Support and Trust Manager Sample Code
DFC comes bundled with default implementations for the IDfPrincipalSupport and IDfTrustManager interfaces. Thanks to the DFC team, we have managed to get the source code these default implementations. This package includes their source code. Developers can study the code to create their own custom implementations of these interfaces to implement a custom authentication mechanism or they can get a better understanding of these default implementations. Note that the default implementations are already bundled with DFC and it is not necessary to recompile them with your application.

DFC Trace Viewer
The Repository Interrogation Utility (RepoInt) now comes with a Trace View for monitoring DFC Traces. The tool can highlight errors and allows a user to set 'trigger words' to highlight trace entries containing the trigger words. Tracing can be paused and restarted, which helps tracing to focus on a specific activity or time period instead of generating voluminous logs that are difficult to mine for data. The tool also provides a UI dialog for configuring tracing in dfc.properties and log4j.properties instead of having to do it manually.
