Smarts Model Development: Notification Details

When a notification object arrives in the SAM console, much of the detailed information which fed the underlying domain manager's diagnosis of the problem is not available in SAM. In addition, there are many events where additional information, not necessarily information which led to the diagnosis, is useful in understanding a problem, it's context, and its impact. This article provides various solutions.

Smarts Model Development: Fragment

Fragments are a way to declare externally defined functions in such a way that the monitoring subsystem knows upon which class attributes the function depends. This is an important consideration because there is no guarantee that externally written functions are only dependent upon their passed parameters.

Server Authentication

From Developer Support: Server Authentication (Michael Roth). This paper discusses the various authentication mechanisms which the Documentum Content Server supports both out of the box and ways in which these mechanisms can be augmented or customized. Configuring WDK Applications

From Developer Support: Configuring WDK Applications (Junaid Asfali). This article focuses on XML configuration of the WDK. Configuration allows us to change the functionality or behavior of the application without recompiling or changing code. In most cases, WDK uses XML to store configuration information. This information is managed by the configuration service and is easy to refresh during runtime. Configuration service caches this information in memory for fast lookup.

Deploying Modules Outside of a Docapp Part 1

DAB is a very good tool for creating docapps but has some limitations. The only way is to build your jars on a box and update your modules by updating the jars, creating a DocApp and deploying them through the Appinstaller. In this article Harjit Singh proposes an alternative solution.

Documentum Application Archive - Summary Tool

Murali Krishnan Mani contributed this tool that provides a detailed summary of a DocApp archive content in a format presentable to the application users. The tool can be used against DocApp Archives that have been created using any version of Documentum Application Builder up to version 5.3., and does not require connectivity to Docbase.
