Judging


The judging panel awarded this application third place because:

  • Judges were impressed with the use of Flex and Flash technologies to present a simple, yet effective application, using DFS
  • The entry leveraged SOA principles, and in the words of one judge, it illustrated solving a common business problem many of our customers have
  • Examples were straight forward and clean, and the UI was simple and elegant, making it easy to judge

Overview


A couple of samples (below) were developed using the free LiveCycle Data Services ES Express Edition. License Information. The PDF Generation sample is an enhanced version of the example from the LiveCycle Data Services ES Express samples application. Both examples require the Adobe Flash Player 9 plug-in.

Benefits


Both examples are simple but real world business applications. Although these examples are developed as integration with Adobe LiveCycle, they are really meant to show how easy it is with Enterprise Content Services to incorporate the power of EMC Documentum into any business app within your organization that includes the management and/or consumption of unstructured content.

  1. It shows the simplicity of saving an object to the EMC Documentum repository using the convenience methods supplied in the java client library
  2. It retrieves a list of GIF objects, and then retrieves and displays each GIF when item is selected from the return set
