EDN @ EMC World 2008


The EMC Developer Network (EDN) was delighted to welcome well over 500 current and prospective developers to EDN activities at EMC World 2008.. Many took advantage of this live educational, collaborative meeting forum at EMC World by attending Software Developer Track, networking events, general sessions, visiting the EDN lounge, and participating in the community.


Software Developer Track

Mon 8:30 am – 5:30 pm, Tues 8:30 am – 6:15 pm, Wed 8:30 am – 6:15 pm, Thur 8:30 am – 2 pm

Compelling and comprehensive developer track sessions were presented by the EMC architects and engineers, spanning EMC development platforms. Hundreds attended over 40 technical sessions to learn, discuss, and gain new insights into EMC developer technologies across - Captiva, Celerra, Centera/XAM, Documentum, RSA/Security, Smarts, SNIA SMI-S, ApplicationXtender, and EmailXtender. Networking Opportunities

EDN Community Networking at the Registration Reception
Sunday, May 18: 3:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Those who stopped by the EDN Community table near the Registration Desk met EDN community members, planned their EMC World schedule, and many started to PlayTheCloud – a social networking game available to all those with EMC interests.


Solutions Pavilion Grand Opening Reception: EDN Welcome
Monday, May 19: 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm

After a productive day in sessions, those who stopped by the EDN Lounge during the reception in the EMC World Solutions Pavilion to appreciated free drinks and food as well as got great EDN bling (notepads, mechanical pencils, Designed for EMC flashing pins, and DFS data model posters), met other developers, learned more about what was new (including demos on EDN Labs, and the EMC Partner Solution Gallery), and registered to PlayTheCloud.


General Sessions

DotConnect – Everybody Makes Connections, hosted by EDN
Tuesday, May 20, 6:30 – 8:00 pm, in the "South Seas F" room

Those who attended dot.Connect enjoyed not only a cool and creative way to connect with EMC technology leaders, but also appreciated drinks, food, a technical challenge, and best of all, a brand new EDN micro-fiber polo shirt!


Go To Market Breakfast: Announcing the EMC Partner Solution Gallery
Thursday, May 21, 7:30 – 8:30 am, in the "South Seas F" room

Those who braved the early breakfast received valuable insights on how to utilize this new marketing benefit to generate awareness, leads, and revenue.
