Using a business case of a Business Intelligence worker who is responsible for nicotine research, these flash demos illustrates a bi-directional integration whereby users can export query results from an ECI Services client into an eRoom as well as conduct ECI Services search queries directly from within an eRoom.  It is composed of two executable, self-running files:

• ECIS Export into eRoom:  The ECI Services user takes relevant results and exports them into an eRoom where they can then be shared and discussed with other team members.
• ECIS Search from eRoom:  An eRoom user generates, executes, organizes and shares ECIS search results from within eRoom.

CIS can facilitate content reuse by automating the building of search and navigation schemes; this improves knowledge management across the enterprise.

This 5 minute video presentation walks you through a demonstration of Content Intelligence Services (CIS).  The demonstration provides a brief overview of how taxonomies are exposed within Documentum. It illustrates the automatic classification of newly added content resulting in the files being linked to multiple categories.  Linking files to multiple categories greatly increases the likelihood that users will find the content.

A decision has been reached on the client-side JDK support requirements for the 5.3 product release, this document outlines that position and includes any known caveats. This decision is in no way threatening to our current product versions and allows for complete interoperability for customers who wish to access any combination of Documentum 5.2.x and 5.3 Web applications. Additionally, it provides the most flexible solution for our customers and partners so that they may roll out 5.3 applications as soon as possible and it in no way prevents 5.3 application usage based on current JDK/JRE/Java Plug-in configuration.

The real-world, large scale imaging application, based on Documentum's Webtop user interface, delivered excellent response time to more than 1,000 concurrent users. The throughput on the billion object repository was virtually unchanged.  In conjunction with this benchmark, Documentum has developed a repeatable benchmark methodology service that organizations can use to validate real-world scalability and performance of an open content management system, running a prototype of their own applications.

The RightSite-WDK Functionality Matrix is designed to assist you in your migration efforts from the RightSite environment to the WDK environment. It provides an overview for Web Client migration by comparing the functionality provided by RightSite, Application Servers, WDK 4.2, and WDK 5.

This document contains some general information on a few of the RightSite and WDK-based Web Clients. As additional WDK 5-Based Clients, such as Documentum Administrator and Web Publisher, are released, a general comparison of the RightSite functionality with the WDK functionality of the products will be added. At the time of the writing of this version of the document, Documentum Webtop and Documentum Digital Asset Manager are the only WDK 5-Based Clients that have been released.

This press release describes the results of recent benchmark tests of the Documentum ECM platform running on various Sun servers. Web application developers are increasingly tasked with building applications that provide more and more sophisticated experiences for end users. To support these efforts, Documentum is transforming our Web-based development environment into a tag-based, server event model that makes development of complex applications easier, faster and more powerful.

The XML Services Initiative (internally known as Project xFiles) provides end-to-end support for XML content management from creation, management, assembly, transformation, delivery and exchange. This functionality ihas been added to the Documentum Foundation Class (DFC) level of Documentum 4i. This functionality is included in the 4.2 release of Documentum 4i. Key features of this release include:

• Web-based templating for content creation (available today -- WebPublisher Editor)
• XML authoring tool integration (Arbortext & SoftQuad) DTD and Schema Validation
• Configurable storage of XML documents (chunking)
• Component and Link management support
• Powerful search capabilities across structure (zone searching), content (full-text searching) and metadata
• Dynamic XML document assembly and generation (XDQL capabilities allow you to return query results as XML documents)
• Transformation of XML documents (Integrated XSLT support)
• Many of the DFC operations have been extended to provide capabilities necessary for effectively managing XML content. These operations (XDM layer of DFC) include check-in, check-out, and export. Extra processing has been added to these operations that takes place whenever the content file format is XML. The new DFC operations being added for this release are for transformation and validation.
