EMC Corp EMC Community Network (ECN)

1. Trouble Signing In

Email / Username
To login you must use the email with which you registered and not your ECN screenname.

Incorrect Password
Passwords are case-sensitive. Sometimes, the CAPSLOCK key is inadvertantly left ON causing a password with an incorrect case (uppercase / lowercase) to be entered.

Account Activation
Ensure that you have activated your ECN account before attempting to login.

  • Check your email Inbox for an email with subject "EMC Community Network: Please Verify Your Email Address". This email should have come from "ecn_communications@emc.com".
  • If you have not received the above email after 8 hours, check your 'Spam / Bulk Mail' folder. If this email is not in your 'Spam / Bulk Mail' folder, contact your Network Administrator to verify that this email is not getting blocked by a Spam filter.
  • After ensuring that the email is not getting blocked by a Spam filter, please click here to resend the confirmation email.

Forgot Password
If you believe that you have forgotten your password, click here to reset your password.

EMC Powerlink Credentials
ECN supports EMC Powerlink accounts but you will need to click on the 'EMC Powerlink Login' link to enter your username / password. EMC Powerlink credentials cannot be directly entered in the ECN login dialog. See below for more details about our EMC Powerlink support.

If you are still having trouble signing in, please contact us providing the description of the issue you are having.

2. EMC Powerlink Authentication support in ECN

This support allows users with EMC Powerlink accounts to login to ECN. To login using EMC Powerlink, you must click on the 'EMC Powerlink Login' link. See below for which scenario applies to you -

I have never registered with or visited EMC Community Network - ECN (or EMC Developer Network - EDN) previously
If you have existing EMC Powerlink credentials, click on the EMC Powerlink login link to use those credentials. Since ECN requires every user to have a screenname, you will be prompted for a screenname and then taken into ECN.

If you don't have EMC Powerlink or ECN accounts, you can register with ECN by clicking on the Register link or you can register with EMC Powerlink and use those credentials to login to ECN.

I already have an ECN (or previously EDN) account
You can continue using your ECN (EDN) credentials.

If you also have an EMC Powerlink account (i.e. you have both an ECN and EMC Powerlink account), you may choose to use the EMC Powerlink account.
IMPORTANT: If you choose to use your EMC Powerlink account, for ECN to pick up your existing account, your EMC Powerlink account 'email' MUST match your existing ECN account's email. If not, ECN will consider this a new account and prompt you for a new screenname.
